Five teenage boys coming of age in 1987: Tommy, Mike, Dan, Justin, and Benji, but one of them, Benji, has left the group after pressure from his father to join the football team and at the beginning of the school year is involved in a car accident with some of the other players. After being given a drug to preserve brain function he finds himself the lone survivor in the hospital, unwittingly his friends come to his rescue but they soon find themselves being chased by the reanimated corpses of the other students in the accident. Can they survive?
